VOLT automation methodology now available!

I think it’s true to say the automation market has expanded at a rate far exceeding its ability to develop the required skill base for planning and executing large scale automation programmes.
The end result in many cases is a largely dissatisfied end-user client community and a services industry desperate to catch up with demand.
Coming early to the intelligent process automation market we have seen that the two of the most critical success factors for automation are;
- experienced practitioners
- being highly organised in approach, execution and governance
So we started a Virtual Operations Client Empowerment Program, intended to enable organisations to rapidly develop, in-house, all the skills and best practices required for successful automation programmes. VOLT is part of the program which also includes our Training Academy.

Step 1: Automation Training academy – 150 students trained!
Virtual Operations foresaw the need to help our clients to meet these challenges by developing their own in-house automation capabilities in all disciplines (CoE roles, strategy, assessment and implementation) and in response we developed the Automation Training Academy which has now trained over 150 ‘RPA graduates’.
Step 2: VOLT Automation Methodology – now available!
As part of our client empowerment philosophy, we have launched a comprehensive fully web-enabled automation methodology for our clients to use, called the VOLT.
The VOLT methodology encapsulates learning from multiple large scale automation programmes and many man-years of experience. Tried, tested and proven it represents the very best practice in a rapidly evolving process automation industry.
Using VOLT will help organisations standardise their approach, significantly reduce project life cycle times, de-risk programmes and greatly enhance governance and compliance.
I have seen clients using VOLT reduce project lifecycle times by 15%. Other benefits include accelerating route to value, increasing speed to competence, authenticating governance and augmenting best practice.
The methodology is now available to licence annually for all end-users. We expect it to pay for itself within 6-9 months and the licence includes full training.
